Archive · Processed, Indexed, Searchable

The durable record of everything decided.

Conserves persistent, versioned, and citable artefacts.

Conservă artefactele persistente, versionate și citabile.

cidaarchive.com is the institutional memory of the Central Intelligence Data Architecture. Documents, reports, analyses and deliverables are refined out of the Data Lake, indexed for retrieval, versioned without exception and retained under explicit policy. What entered the Archive can always be found, and always in the form it had at any point in its history.

Purpose

A lake remembers material.
An archive remembers meaning.

Raw capture and durable record are different disciplines. The Data Lake optimises for fidelity and volume; the Archive optimises for retrieval, comparability and defensibility over years. Its obligation is not to store the most data but to make the right artefact findable, citable and reconstructable long after the analyst who produced it has moved on.

Deliverables as first-class objects

Reports, memoranda, models and briefings are archived as identified objects with authorship, purpose, dependencies and supersession relationships — not as loose files in a folder.

Retrieval that respects intent

Full-text, structural, semantic and metadata search operate over the same index, so a query can be expressed as a phrase, a filter, a citation or a concept.

Immutable versions

Every revision is preserved and addressable. A citation to version 7 resolves to version 7 permanently, regardless of how many revisions followed it.

Supersession, not deletion

Superseded work is marked, linked forward and retained. The Archive records how conclusions changed, which is frequently more valuable than the conclusion itself.

Point-in-time reconstruction

The Archive can reproduce the exact state of the record on any past date — a prerequisite for audit, regulatory response and honest post-mortem review.

Cortex-linked

Archived artefacts are bound to the entities and claims they support in Continuumpedia, so a confidence score can be opened directly into the documents behind it.

Versioning

Nothing is quietly replaced.

Institutional trust erodes the first time a document changes without a trace. In the Archive, revision is an append-only operation: a new version is created, the previous version remains addressable, and the relationship between them is explicit and dated.

This makes disagreement legible. When two teams cite the same artefact at different versions, the discrepancy is immediately visible rather than surfacing months later in a committee.

Object · storage-parity-assessment 11 versions
v11 · 2026-08-02 · HEAD
Regional parity confirmed in three grid regions; confidence raised to 0.89.
v10 · 2026-04-18
Two contradicting datasets added and retained; band unchanged.
v09 · 2025-11-06
Chemistry diversification incorporated; downside variance reduced.
v08 · 2025-05-21
Parity window revised to 2029–2032 following replication across four datasets.
v01 · 2019-09-12
Original assessment: parity projected beyond 2035. Retained in full.
Retention & governance

Policy decides how long,
not convenience.

Retention classes are declared at promotion time and enforced by the Control Plane. Legal hold suspends expiry; expiry is a governed event with an audit record; and nothing leaves the Archive because a storage bill grew inconvenient.

Refinement between Lake and Cortex.

The Archive is stage two of five. It consumes what the Data Lake captures, produces the durable indexed record, defers sensitive custody to the Vault, operates under Control Plane policy, and supplies the evidence base that Continuumpedia scores and cites.

Archive access

Memory you can defend.

Access is scoped by role, purpose and jurisdiction, with retention class and audit expectations agreed at provisioning. Tell us what your organisation must be able to prove, and for how long.
